The Magic Attic has been the rehearsal space I have rented out, since the beginning of 2008/Merykid.
It is a wonderful haunted attic that is split into several rooms, all rented out by San Antonio bands. Each band calls it something different, but for me it was helmed by Joey Castillo's blog post, while documenting my San Antonio release for B&TB.
2008 was a big, scary year, and whenever things became a little too heavy, it was nice having a place where time stood still. Disappearing may not be an admirable trait, but that doesnt stop it from being necessary sometimes.
Anyway, 2009 has come and I am packing my bags, in order to apply what San Antonio has taught me to the rest of the world.
In order to commemorate my time here, I will be recording Merykid: Live@The Magic Attic next week. The project will be produced by friend and Blowing Trees guitarist, Jered Stephens.
